Top quality Trenchers for sale or hire

Groundhog TR-12  with Honda engine

Here at Rosewood we have recently become the UK distributors for the Groundhog TR-12 trenching machines that we use during installations.  These machines are used to cut a neat trench in the ground and have many applications.  The TR-12 has a genuine Honda engine and cuts through all kinds of soil, even hard or rocky ground.  When using the standard chain the trench formed is 10cm wide (up to 13 cm using a wide-digging kit) and the depth is adjustable from 15 to 35 cm (extending down as far as 50 cm using the deep-digging attachment).  These dimensions meet all building regulations for domestic water/electricity guidelines.

Landscaping contractors will find the machine can make short work of installing land drainage.  The machine is so compact (61cm at widest point) and light (105kg) that it fits through internal doors or gates, making it easy to take through a terraced house that has no side or back access to the garden.  The narrow trenches mean far less excavated material to dispose of when compared to digging by hand or using a mini excavator. Less excavated material means less going to landfill and less wastage on the imported aggregate, and of course it is also much less disruptive to the client. The machines are surprisingly good value to purchase, and it’s likely that they would pay for themselves within one or two contracts.

Other uses for a trencher include laying water pipes – at Rosewood we use our machines in order to lay irrigation pipework, but they would be perfect for running a buried water supply to remote areas of the garden where, for example, you might want an outside tap or standpipe close to a vegetable patch.  The neat trenches formed mean that it is quick and easy to bring service cables to outbuildings or to install outside lighting without unsightly cables running overground.  If you wanted to bring electricity to your shed so that you can use power tools, the TR-12 makes light work of cutting a trench in which to bury cables.  Likewise if your summerhouse needs lighting, or if you want to bring a fibre-optic cable to the outbuilding you are going to use as a home office so that you can set up a broadband connection there, a trencher makes this easy.

Please contact Victoria on 01727 811448 if you’d like to purchase one of one of these fantastic machines or if you just want to find out more.   Or for those who need a machine temporarily rather than on an ongoing basis, we are able to arrange hire of a trencher along with a Rosewood engineer to operate it, and Victoria will be happy to arrange hire dates and inform you of the current daily rate.

Dear Victoria
